Biography

Aleksandra Kovac is an award winning composer for theater, TV and film, a 2006 MTV award winner and a best-selling singer-songwriter and music producer from Belgrade, Serbia. She is also a recognized philanthropist, the founder of the prestigious vocal school and children's choir "Belgrade Voice", and an Ambassador for the Council of Europe's campaign "1 in 5" against child abuse.

Concurrent with her singing career, Aleksandra garnered acclaim as a composer for theater, TV and film, boasting as clients such household names as Coca-Cola ( original song for the 2012 Coca-Cola Christmas campaign in ex-Yugoslavia ), VIP Mobile, Telekom, etc. Her work for theater has been awarded the Joakim Vujic award in Serbia. More recently she scored the off Broadway theater play "Jackie and Marilyn" (April 2014), which premiered at the Lion Theater in Theater Row, New York, to rave reviews. As a film composer, she was nominated for the European Talent Award at the Soundtrack Cologne festival in 2013.

Her composition and songwriting skills, extensive experience in music business, and uncompromising quest for quality, has brought her success in the ex-Yugoslavia region, where she is recognized for her unique style. Currently, she is writing her first musical for teenagers, and music score for a feature documentary, which deals with new generations of young people searching for identity and love by idolizing pop stars. Aleksandra's strengths lie in writing songs for films, scores for animation, video games, features and documentaries, as well as commercials, TV shows and theater. She holds a Master of science degree in Composition for screen from Edinburgh University, UK, and a Bachelor degree in Music education from Belgrade University, Serbia. Aleksandra recently was chosen as one of the judges for the X Factor Adria which is broadcasted in 5 countries- Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia and Montenegro. The film "Separate lives", which Aleksandra scored, and the film's creative team got nominated for the New Talent Award at the BAFTA Scotland 2015.
